Miracle In Rwanda by Leslie Lewis Sword
Today, I had the pleasure of seeing Miracle In Rwanda a one person show by Leslie Lewis Sword (Directed and Co-Created with Edward Vilga).
Miracle In Rwanda is based on the true story of Immaculée Ilibagiza as told in the New York Times best selling book . . .
Left to Tell: Discovering God
Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust
I had read the book before seeing the show and was very interested in how the writer/performer and director would pull off this piece.
As with any good show, I am looking to be transported away from the theatre into a world of voice, sound, movement, and emotion.
Miracle In Rwanda delivered on all levels.
Leslie Lewis Sword’s performance was moving as she powerfully portrayed the various characters that inhabited the world Immaculée Ilibagiza lived in during the 3 months of the Rwandan Holocaust.
This show is playing currently in Vancouver

Although this piece deals with a very challenging theme, I was emotionally uplifted by this piece based on forgiveness and faith.
Go and see it while you can.
Blessings,
Barry
